Baptism and Membership
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” - Mark 1:9-11
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” - Romans 6:4

Infant and Child Baptism
Baptism is a celebration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a sacrament of the church, a sign pointing to God’s covenant promise of new life for all who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior (Genesis 17:7). We believe that baptism is a means of grace through which God acts to seal the promises of his covenant love and marks our inclusion as members of the body of Christ.
We believe that children are included as members of God’s covenant people and they, no less than adults, are promised forgiveness of sins and the deliverance of evil through Christ’s sacrificial love and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:39; 6:31-33). Baptism is a communal act of the gathered congregation and so we are so grateful for the opportunity to share in this celebration with you and your household!
